Stuck in the middle
I'm a small-town Southern girl who came to NYC (via one of the greatest places on earth) to go to fashion design school. I ditched Tim Gunn and, somehow, ended up in corporate America. I'm probably more attached to this city than I am to most of my friends. I've been known to buy The Economist and US Weekly at the same time. I'm an absolute disaster at romantic relationships, but I haven't given up on myself yet.

Happy 216th Birthday, Carolina
Today is University day at my alma mater and UNC’s 216th birthday. The date, October 12, marks the laying of the cornerstone of Old East, the institution’s first building and the oldest state university building in the nation. President John F. Kennedy spoke at Unversity Day in 1961, as did Bill Clinton in 1993. Public higher education began in Chapel Hill in 1793, and for more than two hundred years Carolina has symbolized the importance of education in a democratic nation.
